Data Engineer

Job description

1.1.          Job purpose

Responsible for building analytics capabilities as a Core Competency in Umniah needs to have a clear roadmap for building data flows, data dictionary and data governance to achieve the ultimate goal of having a unified platform that serves multiple needs

  2.1.         Responsibilities

• Collect data requirement from business and translate it into data sets
• Design, build and maintain data sets
• Build the documents of data dictionary, data flows, governance

3.1          The job entails exposure to

Collect data requirement from business and translate it into data sets

Communicates and collaborates with business team to gather the data and reporting’s needs

Communicate with data engineers the needed data

Design, build and maintain data sets      

Work with data engineers to build unified and generic data sets

Validate the generated data sets to ensure data integrity and accuracy

Update data sets based on business needs or new requirement

create databases optimized for performance, implementing schema changes, and maintaining data architecture standards

Build the documents of data dictionary, data flows, governance

Build a standard document for data governance, data dictionary and data flows

Ensure a proper communication of data documents

  4.1           Requirements

Education:  Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering and any related IT fields

Work Experience: 

• Officer: 0 – 2 years
• Sr. Officer: a minimum of 3 to 5 years’

4.2            Knowledge of:

• • • Business analysis
    • Data processing, data mining and data warehouse
    • Database structure

 

2.2             Skills in: 

• Market Knowledge: Consumer behavior and consumer segments
• Project Management: Project Reporting
• Applications Management: Telecommunication systems, Development platforms
• IT Development: Software development
• Database Management: Database management, Data warehousing, Knowledge management
• Analysis Techniques: Requirements analysis and design
